Hello my name is Chris Acker, I am the founder of Jeeps4Vets. I am a Navy Veteran and have been involved with the Jeep community through the sales department at Liberty Jeep in Libertyville, IL since 2006.

Whenever I visit the VA Hospital in North Chicago, IL for appointments, I have the pleasure of meeting other Veterans. Sometimes, I will sit and talk to some of other Veterans about their experiences and stories (some would send chills up your spine). It saddens me to know that there are forgotten Veterans who need help in many ways. So, I decided that I wanted to do something about it, and I believe that the Jeep community helps when others are in need.

I have been a member of many Jeep clubs throughout the Chicagoland and Southern Wisconsin area for several years and decided to start my own Jeep club that is orientated around supporting the less fortunate Veterans get back on their feet.  This is where Jeeps4Vets comes into play, we focus on raising money and gathering donations at each event to give back to our less fortunate Veterans.

In 2021, I reached out to Veterans Path to Hope in Crystal Lake, IL to partner with them. Their focus is to help Veterans have easy access to food, clothing, housing, jobs and transportation to their medical appointments.

Also in 2021, Jeeps4Vets also partnered with Eric Bohl the founder Lake County Jeep Club (LCJC) to help have a greater outreach to our community with assisting our Veterans. LCJC has been a huge part of helping with planning some of our events and helping our Jeeps4Vets grow.

In 2022, I became a Mission22 Ambassador. Mission22 was founded by Veterans to help with personalized support and resources to help other Veterans and their families mentally and emotionally. The Ambassador program offers further support to advance society’s collection understanding of the issues faced by Active Service Members, Veterans, and their families.
